Let me first Introduce myself, I go by the name Sanjeev S Nair aka Oldmonk in the gaming world. I am a final year IT Student at IIIT Allahabad with a whole lot of free time on my hand. So what do I do? I backpack till I feel tired, and thats like never !

The lust for travelling was partly as my dad was in a transfer job and i had to shift every once a while. I have lived my early life in Gujarath, Assam and finally settling in chennai before moving to Allahabad for College while travelling to the middle East for my holidays. Every chance I get, I pick up my bag and head up to offbeat locations in search for Peace. Am weird like that !

This blog is to help and encourage students to backpack alone or in a group around India because It teaches you to be independent, you make mistakes and try to find solution or ‘jugaad’ as we indians call it at the same time. The best part is the cultural richness that is guarenteed to amaze you and bring out the best in you. You get to make friends overnight who are on similar journey around India.

I have tried my best to Cover all the tips and tricks for a safe trip to the locations I have been to, Including tags whether the place is suitable for solo backpacking, family trips or a trip to be shared with friends you trust.

One of the main problems I have faced is trying to save money in these trips, and its mainly due to 2 Reasons :
-Transport cost
-Food
So I will be providing you with alternatives and where and how you can be saving money!
